'Generations Unite' to bring young and old together

Students from Dudley College will be holding an event to bring younger and older generations together this Friday.

The ‘Generations Unite’ event will see local 16 to 20 year olds meet with over 65s to develop links and discuss how the older generation can help educate the younger in areas like money management.

Old and young are encouraged to come to the event taking place at the Main Hall, Dudley College, The Broadway, DY1 4AS from 12 noon on Friday 21 February.

The event is part of a project students are completing for the Duke of Edinburgh Award and has been supported by a £500 grant from the Lloyds Bank Money for Life Challenge.

Dudley MP Ian Austin will be joined by Age UK and other local organisations to speak about how different generations can support each other through difficult times.

Ian Austin said:

“Dudley College’s Duke of Edinburgh Award group have done a fantastic job in organising this event.

“Our young people have a lot to learn from senior citizens who have already have a lifetime of experience. I want to see more events like this leading to create permanent links between generations in Dudley.”
