Local MP proud constituents attended Grazebrook service
Dudley North MP, Ian Austin and Councillor Shaukat Ali joined local veterans and residents a new memorial service at the newly cleared Grazebrook
memorial park in Grazebrook Road in Dudley.
Grazebrook Memorial Park has recently been cleaned of litter and graffiti, after a successful campaign by Councillor Shaukat Ali who
represents St Thomas’ ward. Councillor Ali has now organised the first annual memorial service.
The service was led by Father Tony Attwood, from St Thomas’s Church and the Friends of Buffery Park have also agreed to join in to pay their
respects.
Ian Austin said:
“I am pleased to be able to join residents in this remembrance service at the memorial that Councillor Ali has worked so hard to have cleaned up. It’s
important that we remember those who fought and lost their lives to serve their country and uphold the great British values of democracy, equality, freedom, fairness and tolerance.”
Councillor Ali said:
“I am delighted the park is once again useable for local people and I'm really pleased we've been able to organise this dignified event to pay our respects
to the people who fought for democracy and for freedom."
