After funding cuts reduced forced Age UK to reduce the services they could offer, the new Older People's Community Hub will ensure a presence remains in Sedgley.

The Hub will seek to provide a meeting point for local people to me come together and chat. There will also be a café, charity sales, foot care sessions, telephone befriending and information on a number of other services.

Ian Austin said:

“Lots of people contacted me concerned about the effects funding cuts would have on the services Age UK could provide for local people.

“Many older people depend on this for socialising and information so I am delighted that this will not be lost from the area.

“Age UK do a great job and I am thankful for the work Mark and other staff do to support local residents”

Mark Thomas Said:

“It’s great news that we are able to retain a facility for older people to meet in Sedgley, I’m pleased that Dudley Council has worked with us on this project and I’m sure the local community will benefit from this facility.”
