Dudley MP Ian Austin has backed plans for a new Black Country radio station.
Local group Black Country Community Radio have applied to Ofcom for a Communtiy Radio License to broadcast across the area.
The station currently broadcasts online and carries a range of programmes including local news, discussion and music.
Austin is writing to Ofcom in support of their bid and their plans to offer training to young people interested in the media.
Ian Austin said:
“I’ve visited the station so I know firsthand the brilliant work they’re doing and they have my full support.
“I was really impressed by the station’s plans to bring the community together, communicate local news and train up the next generation to work in the media.”
