Austin backs residents' campaign against housing development

Dudley MP Ian Austin is backing campaigners against plans to cram new houses onto a site in Sedgley.

Residents on Cotwall End Road in Sedgley got in touch with Austin after learning that a nearby house was to be demolished and replaced by four houses on the same spot.

Ian Austin will be meeting local residents at the site outside 105 Cotwall End Road at 3:30pm on Thursday 29 January.

There are concerns that the development will bring unwanted disruption and cause congestion on the narrow road and alter the character of the local area.

Austin is helping the campaigners raise concerns the developers behind the plans and make sure they get a say in the planning process.

Ian Austin said:

“It is a crying shame to see one of Sedgley’s most beautiful houses replaced by four modern homes.

“Replacing a single house on the road with four new ones won’t just cause disruption for residents, but completely alter the road’s character.

“That’s why I’m backing their campaign and taking up their concerns directly with the developer behind these plans.”
