Austin backs small business Saturday

Dudley MP Ian Austin is calling on local shoppers to take advantage of free parking in Dudley town centre this Saturday.

Free parking is being offered by Dudley Council as part of Britain’s first ever Small Business Saturday.

The event will celebrate the small businesses across Dudley Borough that employ over 100,000 people.

Ian Austin MP said:

“Like anyone else who grew up in Dudley, I remember the contribution that small businesses like Graduate Records or Criterion Cycles have made to our town centre.

“I still buy toys from Alan Caswell in the Arcade where my parents took me for my birthday as a child.

“Today 96 per cent of all businesses in Dudley employ less than 50 people, so free parking this Saturday is great opportunity for local people to visit the town centre and support great local businesses like Teddy Gray’s and Cafe Grande.”
