Austin calls for action to tackle speeding on Gospel End Road

Dudley MP Ian Austin has called for action to tackle speeding on Gospel End Road.

The MP has conducted a survey of local residents on the road, with every respondent saying that speeding is a problem. Many local residents said that they had witnessed an accident or near miss along the road.

Austin has now written to the police to help concerned residents establish a Community Speed Watch group to help police monitor the speed of vehicles and report offenders.

He has also used the survey responses to call on the Council to introduce further safety measures to reduce speeding.

Ian Austin said:

“It’s clear from my survey that residents think speeding is a real problem on the road.

“I’m already working with the police and local residents to establish a Community Speed Watch group. These groups have helped tackle speeding in other parts of Dudley, and I will continue working with residents to push the Council to look at safety measures on the road.”
