Austin calls for clear up of litter hotspot

Ian Austin has called for immediate action to clear rubbish dumped on Castle Mill Road after numerous complaints by local residents.

Despite frequent calls to the Council about the problem, the area has still not been cleared.

Rubbish is being dumped on a small area of woodland opposite the new development on Castle Mill Road.

Austin is meeting with local Councillor Margaret Aston on Castle Mill Road, opposite number 31, on Friday 11th March at 1pm.

Ian Austin said:

“I contacted the Council immediately after residents got in touch with me and asked for this rubbish to be cleared yet no action has been taken.

“I think the Council should take responsibility for this and clear the area. When people keep their own houses neat and tidy they do not want to overlook litter and rubbish.”

Margaret Aston said:

“The problem has been going on for a long time now and clearly a solution needs to be found for local residents.”
