Austin celebrates success for Dudley Cadets

Dudley North MP Ian Austin has congratulated Dudley Air Cadets on bagging a £25,000 grant for a new minibus.

Members of 347 (Dudley) Squadron help young people in the local area develop essential skills to help them throughout their lives and in future careers as well as contributing to many community activities.

Austin is celebrating the award after writing to the board of the Community Covenant Grant Scheme to champion the local squadron’s application.

The grant will allow the unit to buy a mini bus so they can travel to RAF Cosford, undertake Duke of Edinburgh expeditions, and take community days out.

Ian Austin said:

“The members of the 347 squadron are a credit to the Air Cadets, a credit to their community and a credit to Dudley as a whole. They provide vital support to young people from the local area whilst at the same time serving their country.”

“This grant and the new minibus it will help provide will make a huge difference to the unit and to the local community.”
