Dudley North MP Ian Austin met with Canal and Tunnel Trust Chief Executive Traci Dix-Williams, Finance Manager Diane Griffin and Trustee Alan Hazeldine today to celebrate the popularity of this great Black Country attraction.

The visit is part of National Tourism Week which runs from the 30th March – 7th April and campaigns to raise the profile of the industry and celebrate the value and quality of tourism in England.

Ian Austin said:

“I’ve been going to the Canal trust with my family for years and enjoyed many trips on the boats.

“Dudley has so much to offer, and we need to make the most of the assets we have. It’s one of the reasons why I am so pleased that the Metro will finally be coming to Dudley – so more people can come to our town and from elsewhere in the country and get to our brilliant tourist attractions

“I think Dudley is a great place to live and visit and we have some of the best attractions in the Country, including the Canal Trust, Black Country Living Museum, the Castle and Dudley Zoo.”
