Austin backs campaign to save Seven Stars pub

Dudley MP Ian Austin is campaigning to stop the Seven Stars pub in Sedgley being turned in to a supermarket.

Austin has already taken action on behalf of residents by contacting Marston's Brewery asking them to think again about selling the pub. He has written to Dudley Council urging them to do everything possible to protect the pub and is set to meet local campaigners to discuss the next steps of the campaign.

Ian Austin said:

“Local pubs are important to the community – the Seven Stars is a popular spot and I do not want to see it turned in to a supermarket.

“I’m worried about the impact on traffic, increased parking and the effect it could have on trade in Sedgley town centre.

“When residents got in touch with me about this issue and I was keen to help and to take up the cause. I am meeting with campaigners on Thursday 28th August to see how we can take this forward and save the Seven Stars.”
