Austin demands answers on walk-in consultation

Dudley MP Ian Austin has written to local health bosses demanding answers on changes to out-of-hours services.

Dudley Clinical Commissioning Group has recently released a consultation on out-of-ours services which could see the Holly Hall Walk-in Centre close.

The consultation does not guarantee that out-of-hours services would match the walk-in centre’s opening hours and capacity if it is closed.

Austin has now written to the Chief Executive of Dudley CCG, Paul Maubach, asking questions about future services that are not answered by official consultation documents.

Ian Austin said:

“Just like everyone in Dudley, we’ve used the walk-in centre at Holly Hall when we’ve needed a doctor out-of-hours.

“Any change to local services has to make improving care its top priority, but the consultation gives no guarantee that services will be maintained if the walk-in centre is closed.

“That’s why I’ve written to local health bosses to get basic facts on what will happen to opening hours, waiting times and parking if the centre is closed.”
