Austin encourages local people to get online

Dudley MP Ian Austin is attending a digital skills session at Dudley Library as part of Get Online Week.

The MP will be taking part in the session at 3pm on Friday 16th October at Dudley Library, St James’s Road, Dudley DY1 1HR.

Dudley Library is running a series of free sessions to improve local people’s computer skills to help them shop online, keep in touch with loved ones and manage their finances.

The training sessions are part of Get Online Week which runs from 12th – 18th October with thousands of events across the country that have already helped hundreds of thousands of people get to grips with new technology.

Local people can take part in a digital skills session at Dudley Library free of charge from 2-3pm or from 3-4pm this Friday 16th October, or visit http://www.dudley.gov.uk/libraries for details of other sessions across the borough.

Ian Austin said:

“Being able to send an email or look something up on the internet have become essential skills for work and daily life over the last few years.

“I’m encouraging local people who aren’t confident with computers to take part in Get Online Week so they can develop these skills free of charge.”
