Austin invites teachers to Westminster

Dudley MP Ian Austin has invited teachers in Dudley to attend a free residential training opportunity in Westminster this summer.

The course offers delegates an opportunity to share their expertise and knowledge with teaching colleagues as well as time to ideas for the classroom. Delegates will experience a variety of events during the week, including Q&A sessions with Members of both Houses, talks from subject specialists, workshops devoted to key aspects of the work of Parliament linked to the new National Curriculum and detailed resources for use in the classroom.

Austin is asking Schools and Colleges in Dudley to promote this amongst their teachers of Government & Politics, Citizenship, Law and other related subjects.

Ian Austin MP said:

“I think it’s really important that local people have the opportunity to visit Parliament and see what goes on there for themselves.

“I want as many teachers as possible to take advantage of this training and share ideas on bringing politics into the classroom.”
