Austin presents scholarships to cancer unit staff

Dudley MP Ian Austin will be presenting scholarships to cancer nurses at Russells Hall Hospital’s Georgina Unit this Friday.

The scholarships have been created by the Leukaemia Unit Appeal Fund to provide further education and training for nurses at the Georgina Unit.

The Appeal Fund regularly raises money to pay for training of staff at the unit, the hiring of new specialist staff, new equipment and respite breaks for patients and their families.

The presentation will be taking place at the Leukaemia Unit Appeal Fund’s AGM at 7pm on Friday 31 January.

Ian Austin said:

“All of the staff at Russell Halls’ Georgina Unit do brilliant work, and it’s a huge honour to present them with these scholarships for further training.

“The Appeal Fund continues to do great work in supporting the unit, and I’ve been taken aback by the generosity of everyone involved.”
