Austin supports local charity craft project

Dudley North MP Ian Austin is urging local people to support  Woodside Crafts, a social enterprise selling crafts to help local charities helping people recovering from mental illness.

He will visit their King Street shop on Friday at 13:15.

Woodside Crafts trains people to produce wooden crafts, such as garden furniture, which are sold to the public at their shop on King Street in the town centre. The project gives support as well as training to people with mental illnesses, to help them rebuild their confidence and develop skills for the future.

Austin will visit the shop on Friday at 13:15 to meet Martin Marston, one of the directors, and talk about the work Woodside Crafts does to help local people. He will have the opportunity to see a wood work class in action.

Ian Austin said:

"Woodside Crafts is a fantastic local project which gives much needed support to people who need it. I am really looking forward to seeing what they do in the training sessions and some of the high quality crafts which are produced."
