Austin to meet local pharmacist in line for top award

Dudley pharmacist Olutayo Arikawe is in line for a top award from the Royal Pharmaceutical Society.

Dudley MP Ian Austin will be visiting Olutayo Arikawe at the Priory Community Pharmacy, 97 Priory Road, Dudley DY1 4EH at 11am on Friday 8th July.

The "I Love My Pharmacist Award” is run by the Royal Pharmaceutical Society and celebrates best practice of “unsung pharmacy heroes” across the country. Ms Arikawe has been nominated as one of the Midland & East region finalists, and will now face a public vote.

Austin will be visiting the pharmacy to find out about Ms Arikawe’s work and offer his support for the award.

Ian Austin said:

"I’m delighted to see that Ms Arikawe’s hard work is being recognised with this nomination.

"I have always said that local pharmacies play a crucial role in our community, and help reduce unnecessary visits to A&E and GPs' surgeries.

"I look forward to visiting next week so that I can give my support to in person."
