Austin to meet with hospital watchdog

Dudley MP Ian Austin will this week meet with officials from Dudley’s new health watchdog, Healthwatch.

Austin will meet the new body on Friday to discuss its role in hearing complaints from patients in Dudley.

Healthwatch Dudley were involved in the recent Keogh Review covering Russells Hall, bringing the concerns of local patients to the review board.

The body has responsibility for helping patients bring their concerns about local healthcare to doctors, hospitals and care homes.

Ian Austin MP said:

“When me or a member of my family is ill, we queue up at Russells Hall like anybody else in Dudley and if I had any concerns, I’d want to know that there’s someone who’s on my side and will fight to make my concerns heard.

“I’ve been listening to constituents’ concerns and brought them straight to Bruce Keogh and his team and I want to see how this new body will be helping to improve the service people in Dudley receive.”
