Dudley MP Ian Austin will visit a new music group for young people in Stourbridge this weekend.
Base Studios’ Saturday Music Club is a Lottery funded scheme aimed at giving 14-18 year-olds the chance to record and produce music.
This has been the scheme’s most successful year to date with 20 students joining the club run by local music teacher Jonathan Morgan.
Austin has been invited to come and see students perform at their regular Saturday rehearsal this weekend at 2.00pm, Unit 14 Gainsborough Trading Estate, Stourbridge, DY9 7ND
Ian Austin MP said:
“I’m delighted to have this opportunity to come and see the Saturday Music Club in action. The club has gone from strength to strength, and this is its best year yet. It’s giving young people in the area the chance to learn to play music and perform in a band.
“Music was a big part of my life growing up in Dudley, and I used to visit clubs like JBs every week to see local bands play.
“I’m pleased that the Saturday Music Club is continuing this tradition by giving local musicians a place to rehearse, record and play live in Dudley.”
