Beacon Explorer Scout Unit visits Parliament

Young people and volunteers from the Beacon Explorer Scout Unit have visited Parliament for a tour.

Dudley MP Ian Austin organised for the group to have a full guided tour of the Palace of Westminster, including the opportunity to look inside the House of Commons and House of Lords.

The MP has backed the work of local scouts groups and has previously pulled pints at the 1st Sedgley Scouts beer festival.

Local people living in Austin's Dudley North constituency can email ian.austin.mp@parliament.uk or call 020 7219 8012 if they are interested in visiting Parliament.

Ian Austin said:

"I was a Cub Scout myself in Dudley, and I know from experience that the Scouts help young people to develop much needed life skills.

"Parliament belongs to local people, so I'm delighted that I could organise this visit for Scouts and volunteers to come and see it for themselves."
