Council candidate takes on abseil challenge at Dudley Castle

Local council candidate and charity fundraiser Damian Corfield has chosen his fundraising next challenge – abseiling down the side of Dudley Castle in aid of the Stroke Association.

Damian will abseil 100ft down Dudley Castle on Saturday 19th March at 11am.

The Stroke Association is an important cause for Damian after a close friend recently suffered a stroke. Money raised will go to help those effected by strokes and support research in to treatment.

Damian lives in the High Arcal estate with his wife and two children and owns a motor vehicle business. He is a well-known local campaigner and charity fundraiser, he is standing in the 2016 local elections for Sedgley Ward.

Damian’s last fundraising challenge saw him and a team raise £9,000 for local charities by climbing Ben Nevis.

Damian Corfield said:

"I wanted to take on this challenge for my lifelong friend who has recently suffered a stroke at the age of 43.

"Ade is the same age as me and the stroke he suffered will change his life forever. I wanted to do this to highlight the cause and make some money for Stroke Association."
