DUDLEY MP IAN AUSTIN CALLS FOR MORE FUNDING FOR POLICE

Dudley MP Ian Austin is demanding that the Government increases the number of police in Dudley.

Austin spoke out after a spate of burglaries and car thefts in Dudley.

He wants to make sure the Black Country gets its fair share of the extra funds promised by new Prime Minister to employ an extra 20,000 police officers.

Austin stood up at Prime Minister’s Questions in Parliament and demanded that the Government provide the funds and support the police need to tackle crime in Dudley.

He’s organised a series of community meetings on crime which have been attended by hundreds of residents, and thousands of residents responded to a detailed survey sent to every household.

Ian Austin said:

“I’ve had lots of people come to my community meetings in the last few weeks, telling me how me how worried they are about anti-social behaviour, burglaries, car theft and violent crime.

“They want more police on the streets, more criminals caught and punished and a police station to the public in Dudley Town Centre.

“I promise to keep campaigning for more funding and support for West Midlands police so they can keep people in Dudley safe.”
