Dudley MP Ian Austin and his team will be busy baking cakes next week to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support.
They’re inviting local people to pop in to their Dudley office for a cup of tea or coffee and cake as part of the “World’s Biggest coffee Morning” which is Macmillan’s biggest fundraising event and asks people across the country to host an event to raise money.
Ian will be hosting his from 2-4pm on Friday 30th September at St James House, Trinity Road, Dudley, DY1 1JB.
Austin’s event is being held in memory of local man John Thomas, who passed away last year. Macmillan provide support to people battling cancer from the moment they are diagnosed, through treatment and beyond.
Residents can pop in and have a slice of cake and a cup of tea or coffee in return for a donation to Macmillan.
Ian Austin said:
“Macmillan Cancer Support provide vital support for people suffering from cancer in Dudley and across the country.
“I wanted to invite local people in for a cup of tea or coffee, a piece of cake and a chat.
“Macmillan were there to support John and his family through his illness. I know what a difference they make and I thought it would be nice to organise this to say thank you for their amazing work.
“I hope lots of residents can pop in and help us and raise money for this great cause. Please come along if you can and bring friends and family to join us.”
