Local businessman and charity worker chosen to fight election in Sedgley

Local businessman, community campaigner and charity fundraiser Damian Corfield has been chosen to contest the Sedgley Ward Council seat for the Labour Party at the local election in 2016.

Damian lives in the High Arcal estate with his wife and two children and owns a motor vehicle business. He is a well-known local campaigner and charity fundraiser.

Damian is currently working with Dudley Council and Dudley Clinical Commissioning Group and leading the campaign to make better use of the Ladies Walk Centre. He promises to hold regular advice surgeries and work hard for the residents of Sedgley.

Damian Corfield said:

“I am honoured to have been selected to stand as a Councillor in the community in which I have worked for so long.

“At a time when Council budgets are being slashed I will work hard to get the best deal for residents in Sedgley.

“I think it is important to be open and available and I promise to hold regular advice surgeries so people can contact me easily to help with any issues they may have”

Ian Austin MP said:

“I have known Damian for years and worked alongside him on a number of campaigns. Most recently we climbed Ben Nevis and raised £9,000 for local charities, but I have also worked with him to keep the Police Station open.

“He really cares about the area and I know he will be a great representative for local residents.”
