Local youngsters have taken part in a ‘Dragons’ Den’ event to pitch for charity funding today at Dudley College.
The event was organised for local youngsters taking part in the National Citizen Service scheme that is training a number of teams designing social projects to benefit their local area.
Dudley MP Ian Austin joined a panel of local business and community leaders to judge the projects and offer feedback.
Each team taking part will now receive funding to help them complete their projects ready for September.
Ian Austin said:
“We need to make education and skills our number one priority in Dudley because it’s the only way that we will attract new investment and jobs to the area.
“The National Citizen Service is doing brilliant work by helping local youngsters develop new skills and confidence while working on projects to benefit the community.
“I was delighted to help by joining the panel and offering advice.”
