MP to grab lunch at new community café

Dudley MP Ian Austin is visiting a Dudley community café to hear about their work helping local people get into the catering trade.

Austin will visit Café Dudley at Dudley Counselling Centre, 24 Salop Street, Dudley DY1 3AT at 12:30pm on Thursday 23rd June.

The Dudley Café project is run by Top Church Training every Thursday from 11:30am – 2pm at the Dudley Counselling Centre on Salop Street in Dudley.

The project allows local young people to take part in a three month voluntary programme to develop their cooking and catering skills.

Austin will meet the project’s staff and volunteers to hear about the work they are doing to improve skills and job prospects.

Ian Austin said:

“We need make education and skills our number one priority in Dudley to attract new jobs and businesses.

“The Dudley Café project is doing brilliant work to give local youngsters real experience of the catering trade.

“I’m looking forward to meeting the volunteers and trying their food!”
