Dudley North MP Ian Austin will be visiting Westfield Sports Cars this week to see the developments they are making with electric cars and autonomous vehicles.
Westfield is 100% British owned and manufactures sports cars and high-tech vehicles in the heart of the Black Country.
Austin and Ian Cooper, Labour’s Parliamentary Candidate for Halesowen and Rowley Regis, are meeting Managing Director Julian Turner to talk about the new technologies they are developing in the growing market of electric cars.
Austin has recently been voted as Vice-Chair of the Electric and Automates Vehicles Parliamentary Group to make sure areas like the Black Country aren’t left behind from advances in new-technology. He promised to campaign to bring new investment, new industries and new jobs to the Black Country in these developing industries.
Ian Austin said:
“Dudley lit the spark that fired the industrial revolution, changing the whole of the world. No one is prouder of the area than me, but we all know we’ve struggled to new investment, new industries and new jobs to replace the ones we lost in traditional industries.
“Manufacturers like Westfield are fast adapting to advances in new industries and technology so I am delighted to go and learn about what they are doing to bring investment and new jobs to the area.
