Dudley MP Ian Austin has been thanked for his work to freeze fuel duty.
Dudley MP Ian Austin has been thanked by Quentin Wilson, the lead campaigner of FairFuelUK, for his support in helping to achieve a freeze on fuel duty
Austin has campaigned for a freeze on fuel duty since 2011, calling for a vote in Parliament to delay a planned increase, as well writing to Ministers to raise the issue with them.
Austin’s support of FairFuelUK’s work has paid off as it was announced in this year’s budget that fuel duty will remain frozen until spring 2015. This will help to ease the pressure on the cost of living for hard-working families and businesses.
Ian Austin MP said:
“Like most people in Dudley I have noticed the steep increase in cost when filling up my car. Going to the pump has become very expensive for millions of families across the country.”
“I’m really pleased that campaigners’ hard work paid off, and I will continue to push for action to tackle the cost of living in Parliament.”
Quentin Wilson said:
“I'd like to thank Ian for the unstinting support you've given FairFuelUK over the last three-and-a-half-years. This campaign couldn't have come so far or achieved so much without your help.”
