Success as Austin and Aston get woods cleared up

Rubbish dumped in woodland next to Castle Mill Road has been removed after Ian Austin MP and Councillor Margaret Aston called on the Council to clear the area.

Despite frequent complaints by local residents about the problem, the area had not been cleared for many months.

Last week Austin and Aston successfully pushed for a clear up and will now be calling for a permanent solution to keep the area clean.

Ian Austin said:

“I contacted the Council immediately after residents got in touch with me and asked for this rubbish to be cleared, so I am really pleased we have been able to get this done.

“I think the Council should take responsibility for this and continue to clear the area and not just do one off litter removals.

Margaret Aston said:

“The problem has been going on for a long time now and clearly a permanent solution needs to be found for local residents.

“When people keep their own houses neat and tidy they do not want to overlook litter and rubbish.”
