Top Dudley students to meet Nick Robinson in Parliament

A group of Dudley’s top students is set to meet with Nick Robinson this Wednesday.

Dudley MP Ian Austin is organising a trip to Parliament for Dudley’s Gift and Talented students including a tour, tickets to see Prime Minister’s Questions and an opportunity to meet top BBC political reporter Nick Robinson.

Coach operator National Express has assisted by providing travel for the day.

The visit is part of a range of activities that schools from across Dudley are laying on to improve the skills and knowledge of their brightest students, with staff from Bishop Milner organising the latest event.

Austin regularly welcomes school groups to Westminster and has said that he wants to make the Gifted and Talented visit an annual event with career talks from top professionals.

Ian Austin said:

“I’m really pleased to be welcoming Dudley’s brightest students to Parliament so they can see politics in action.

“Education and skills has to be our number one priority in Dudley, and events like this help set high standards.

“I want to make this a regular event so local students can be inspired by top professionals and set high ambitions for themselves.”
