Dudley North MP Ian Austin visited Westfield Sports Cars last week to see the developments they are making with electric cars.
Westfield is 100% British owned and manufactures sports cars in the heart of the Black Country.
Austin met with Managing Director Julian Turner to talk about the new technologies they are developing in the growing market of electric cars.
Austin has recently joined the Parliamentary Group for the Fourth Industrial Revolution to make sure areas like the Black Country aren’t left behind from advances in new-technology. He promised to campaign to bring new investment, new industries and new jobs to the Black Country.
Ian Austin said:
“Dudley lit the spark that fired the industrial revolution, changing the whole of the world. No one is prouder of the area than me, but we all know we’ve struggled to new investment, new industries and new jobs to replace the ones we lost in traditional industries.
“Manufacturers like Westfield are fast adapting to advances in new industries and technology so I am delighted to go and learn about what they are doing to bring investment and new jobs to the area.
